Come Together As One
Taaqademy is musician owned and operated, a one-piece music academy (no franchises, no duplicates). The owners and the hires are all active performing musicians, and teachers. They bring rhythm and style to the stage and the student, making music live and alive.
TAAQ or Thermal And A Quarter (founded 1996) describe their music as ‘Bangalore Rock,’ rooted in a classic rock idiom while being Indian in subtle, inescapable ways. With the way the heat is hitting Bangalore in the Summers, the usage of the word Thermal from way back in 1996 is visionary.
So, the members of the rock band TAAQ decided to start a music academy, on their own, without the help of any expensive CA to do the boring stuff like company registration, professional tax, TDS, PF, ESC etc.
Now just because they were musicians, it should not be implied that they didn’t do the Math. Here was their working. An Academy by TAAQ eliminating the CA!
Thus was born Taaqademy from the house of TAAQ MUSIC PRIVATE LIMITED. The world is divided on how it is pronounced, but that’s another song.

Bruce & Rajeev
Co-founders Bruce (Vocals / Guitar) and Rajeev (Drums) came into the world singing. It’s called crying in tune nowadays. They have been together since the inception of TAAQ in 1996, and their partnership has lasted longer than most marriages.
Today they actively teach, perform, and party together with their choir of wonderful bathroom singers (even Adele is one btw!), some of whom are also professional musicians.
Taaqademy has an equitable, democratic, fair and music-first culture.
