One-On-One
Learning To Fly
Want to read about our program’s value proposition, core differentiators, curriculum, syllabus, evaluation, grading and other such big words? Wait a while. We’ll need to go back and learn how to write in Business Language – because our mother tongue goes just from A to G.
We are a serious-fun music hobby class.
In this deafening silence, allow us to give you some old news. You may think learning music is hardly easy, but we’ll right that wrong!
Yes, we are oxymorons!
Here is our pitch!
We promise to teach you everything we know. With a gentleness that the craft deserves. We promise you recitals and applause. We promise to give you an experience of live performance on stage (butterflies in the stomach included). We promise to prep you for exams, should you choose to go there. We promise you technique, trivia and tales of songs and singers. We promise to be the Wind Beneath Your Wings – as you are Learning to Fly!
Still Haven’t Found What You’re Looking For?
Let’s meet for Black Coffee or Green Tea. Or milkshake, if you are A Minor. But you stay So Far Away From Me, and the Bangalore traffic is terrible, so let’s meet in the clouds. Talking of clouds, we hope it rains soon. Bangalore is getting so hot, no? Coming back to the cloud, fill out the form below and come for a free trial session. Let’s find you some music. Or shall we say, let the music find you?
It’s not Money for Nothing
Our base price is INR 1250 / hr for OOO, not as in Ozone, but one-hour session x one-on-one training x online format. The more sessions you purchase, the lower the fee per hour. If you’d like to train in-person at our studios in Bangalore, the per-hour rate is slightly higher. Plus there is petrol. And traffic. So we came up with Hybrid – sometimes online and sometimes in-person. Our fee is inclusive of GST, training, gossip, updates on the musical events in Bangalore, (we’d tell you about world events also, but it’s expensive to travel na) and music trivia.
Book a Free Trial Class
Well, nothing is free really, except death and taxes. We have a show up fee of INR 600 / USD 15. If you show up for the trial class and choose to enroll in any of our classes, the amount will be adjusted against your registration fees. If you show up for the trial class and decide that learning music is not your cup of tea (rare), we will refund the money. However, if you don’t show up, and our trainer has gotten ready with hair and make up to meet and greet you, then your show up fee will be used to pay for their coffee.
when the student is ready…
Every student learns music differently, based on age, surround sound, motivations, compulsions etc. So also, every teacher teaches music differently.
We place a lot of value in our teachers and their abilities to accurately assess and develop the methods that will work best for their students; and since all our sessions are one-on-one, we have found this very effective in both avoiding a ‘cookie cutter’ outcome and enabling truly inspirational journeys of learning.
…the teacher arrives
Most of our teachers are professional musicians and sometimes get called to perform for concerts and gigs. Sometimes they get sick, get lazy, get busy, get drunk, get married, you get the gist. It’s called being human. But your show must go on. So in steps a substitute teacher, laden with your Session Notes, to give you a flavour of their teaching style. This ensures continuity in your training and an opportunity to explore new dynamics.
You’re still here?
If you’ve reached here, then we’re already in a relationship. So let’s raise the bar.
Our mentors use AI (Actual not Artificial Intelligence) – generated tools called Skill Maps to ensure you fulfill all the requirements of a certain playing level while allowing them to tailor-make sessions for you. No cookies and cutters here!
Our Level Check Reports update you on your progress in an easily understandable format. Our founders are closely involved with QC (hah! – there’s a Business Term for you!). They’re serious about delivering on their promise.
We prepare you for Recitals, which are musical performances conducted in the safety of a friendly, appreciative online audience, before getting you to jam with other musicians at your playing level and putting you on a pro-level live stage. Taaqademy Live events happen at regular intervals, and our annual Taaqademy Festival typically brings hundreds of performers together – students and faculty – for a grand musical evening.
Thrill of the stage? Check. Those aforementioned butterflies? Check.
We have Teacher Shake-ups – a scheme wherein students get to experience a new teacher and discover different styles and ideas. The transition is seamless, everything gets recorded in our Session Notes, and, as you already know, founder QC is a big deal here.
As you gain proficiency and style, we invite you to our Pudding Sessions – proof of your musicality. Pudding Sessions involves the production of audio/video content (involving your excellent performances) which is then promoted on our social handles, allowing you to reach a wider audience and helping you build your music profile.
Yes, Yes, Yes, we have Affiliations with International Music Examination Boards – Trinity College of Music (London) and RSL Awards (UK). We train and mentor students who wish to take these exams, work towards their music qualifications (from Debut to Grade 8) and build their portfolio. We have a dedicated exams team (exams@taaqademy.com) See, like that we are full professional only!
